Representative Ryan has proposed a budget that is fiscally responsible. He used a simple formula to come up with his proposal. Reduce all spending to 2008 levels for 5 years, and save over $6 trillion over the next 10 years. The savings come from not spending the money that has grown our budget tremendously since 2008. By contrast, President Obama's budget proposal locks in spending at the currently increased levels, estimated at 24% higher than 2008.
